The Metropolitan Police have announced a major operation to oversee a large-scale protest in Central London on Wednesday, with more than 1,600 officers set to be deployed, including 500 drawn from forces across the United Kingdom.

The march, organised by the Stop Trump Coalition, is anticipated to draw participants from around 50 protest groups.

Demonstrators are expected to assemble in Portland Place from approximately 14:00, with the procession commencing by 15:00.

The route will wind through these streets:

Regent Street
Piccadilly Circus
Haymarket
Cockspur Street
Whitehall
Parliament Street

It will evenually culminate in a rally at Parliament Square, scheduled to conclude by 19:00.

To prevent serious disruption to the community, conditions under the Public Order Act have been imposed.

Participants must form up exclusively in the designated area of Portland Place, as indicated on an official map provided by Metropolitan Police.

Significant Road Closures will also be implemented across central London during the event, potentially affecting traffic and local businesses.

Deputy Assistant Commissioner Louise Puddefoot, leading The Met's Public Order policing efforts this week, commented:

"Around 50 protest groups are expected to gather together in central London on Wednesday, on what will be another busy day for officers. The Met is used to delivering complex and large-scale policing operations to keep the public safe, and we have a comprehensive plan in place.

"We have been in close contact with the organisers to ascertain their intentions, and we have engaged with local businesses and community representatives to understand the impact on them. We would ask all those taking part in the protest to be considerate to the local community, and ensure disruption is kept to a minimum.

"We will approach this protest as we always do, policing without fear or favour, and ensuring that people can exercise their lawful rights, whilst being robust in dealing with crime or disorder."

The Met emphasised their commitment to balancing the right to peaceful protest with the need to maintain public safety and minimise inconvenience to residents and visitors in the capital.

Officers will be on hand to facilitate the event while responding promptly to any incidents of disorder.

Further updates on road closures and Public Transport disruptions are expected to be released by Transport For London and The Met in the coming hours.

Those planning to travel through Central London on Wednesday are advised to check for the latest information and consider alternative routes.

Anyone preparing to take part in The Stop Trump Coalition March must form up in the area shaded on the map issued by Metropolitan Police.

This area is Portland Place.

All participants in the march are required to adhere to the designated route, as illustrated on the map below (Portland Place, Regent Street, Piccadilly Circus, Haymarket, Cockspur Street, Whitehall, Parliament Street, Parliament Square).

The march must commence no later than 15:00.

All participants in the rally following the march are required to remain within the designated area shaded in red on the map below, encompassing Parliament Square and Whitehall.

The event must conclude no later than 19:00.

Outside Parliament, the reaction was equally charged.

In Parliament Square, around 100 supporters gathered as campaigners from Dignity In Dying live-streamed the result over a speaker.

Cheers erupted as the news broke, with many weeping, jumping, and hugging in celebration of the historic step forward.

However, not all voices were in favour.

A group of protesters also assembled in the square, voicing deep concerns about the bill's implications.

One woman shared a personal story, describing her son's agonising death from cancer and arguing that Assisted Dying could have offered him a choice.

Another protester warned that the legislation risked "opening a floodgate", highlighting fears of unintended consequences.

The Terminally Ill Adults (End Of Life) Bill passed its third reading in the House Of Commons today, Friday 20 June 2025, with 314 votes in favour and 291 against, securing a majority of 23.

The legislation now advances to the House Of Lords for further analysis.

The bill, which has sparked intense debate across the United Kingdom, would grant terminally ill adults with six months or less to live the right to apply for an assisted death.

The process requires approval from two doctors and a panel consisting of a Social Worker, a senior legal figure, and a psychiatrist, ensuring rigorous oversight.

Labour Party MP Kim Leadbeater, the bill's sponsor, expressed confidence in its passage ahead of the vote.

Speaking to the House Of Commons, she acknowledged concerns raised by prominent medical bodies, including the Royal College of Psychiatrists, the Royal College of Pathologists, and the Royal College of Physicians, but maintained her belief in the bill’s merits.

President Joe Biden has officially given his endorsement for current Vice President Kamala Harris to run for United States Presidency in the 2024 Election.

The announcement was delivered on Social Media platform, 𝕏 , a few minutes ago.

President Biden posted the following on his account @JoeBiden.

"My fellow Democrats, I have decided not to accept the nomination and to focus all my energies on my duties as President for the remainder of my term. My very first decision as the party nominee in 2020 was to pick Kamala Harris as my Vice President. And it’s been the best decision I’ve made. Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it’s time to come together and beat Trump. Let’s do this." [SIC.]

To cement President Biden's solidarity with Vice President Harris, his Social Media team accompanied his announcement with this friendly photograph of the pair together.

Recently, President Biden has shown some support for President Donald Trump following the assassination attempt on The Republican's life earlier this month in Pennsylvania but the soon to be former Head Of The United States Government still hopes the WWE Hall Of Famer will be beaten in the 2024 Presidential Elections.
