The decision was made by the Finance and Resources Committee on 21 November 2025.
The decision was made by the Finance and Resources Committee on 21 November 2025.
The scheme is set to launch in Spring 2026 with at least 200 E-Bikes available for hire around the clock via a Mobile Phone app.
The previous scheme ended in Spring 2024, and public interest has prompted its reinstatement.
Aberdeen City Council will provide £200,000 from the Low Emission Zone surplus to support operations over three years, with no further funding expected as the scheme aims to become self-sustaining.
The operator will handle all aspects including infrastructure, maintenance, and reporting, with compliance to performance indicators required.
Profit-sharing will apply if the contract extends to years four and five.
