Recovery is a heartfelt short film that follows four patients who take part in an NHS Attend Anywhere-style appointment as part of their therapy for Eating Disorders.
When their nurse drops out of the call, they are left to do the group alone.
Based on real life experiences of suffering with Eating Disorders.
Recovery explores mental illness in a truthful, hopeful way.
Throughout CoronaVirus Pandemic, Britain has had to adapt in drastic ways to prevent the spread of COVID-19 that has taken the lives of at least 161,000 people in the United Kingdom alone.
The way we do things has completely changed, including therapy sessions for Mental Health conditions.
With the power of tecnology, medical appointments and therapy sessions have been moved online.
Recovery - starring Emily Rose Ambler as Claire, Abbie Jackson as Hannah, Lucy Edington-Brown as Izzy, Nichole Cook as Gemma, and Abbi Stevenson as Matilda - highlights how challenging it has been for people struggling with Mental Health without physical face-to-face appointments.

As Nurse Claire goes offline due to technical difficulties, Izzy, Matilda, Hannah & Gemma have to pull together to continue the group therapy session without their trained professional to guide them through.
The women demonstrate just what we have all had to do over the past couple years and that's work as a community to help each other out - regardless of race, sexuality, gender or any other labels you can think of.
Not to give too much away, it is clear these wonderful actors have done their research into what goes into the recovery process for Mental Health problems, more specifically Eating Disorders. The scriptwriter has written in very clever terminology that would be used by a Community Psychiatric Nurse or other medical professionals. It's always great when a production knows what they're performing.
Abbie Jackson, Lucy Edington-Brown, Nichole Cook, Abbi Stevenson & Emily Rose Ambler's passion to spread positive awareness for Mental Health is evident in this independent production. The sensitivity displayed is a true testament to their abilities as performing artists.
Recovery is a very good production. Well-thought-out and vehemently delivered. The women who appear should be congratulated for beautifully bringing a somewhat taboo subject to the forefront. Some of the dialogue is rather funny which shows Mental Health/Eating Disorders doesn't have to be scary all the time. Especially when you've got people like Claire, Izzy, Matilda, Gemma & Hannah supporting you along the way.
Recovery was really good, educational, entertaining and engaging.
Well done, girls.
