LONDON: MURDER INVESTIGATION LAUNCHED AFTER FATAL ASSAULT IN UXBRIDGE | INFORMING BRITAIN ON CRIME

Metropolitan Police detectives have initiated a murder investigation following a fatal assault in Uxbridge earlier today, Friday 26 September 2025.

At 12:27, on Friday, 26 September 2025, Metropolitan Police were called to reports of a fight between two men on High Street, Cowley.

Officers attended the scene alongside the London Ambulance Service, where a 62-year-old man was treated for injuries.

Despite the efforts of paramedics, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in Police Custody.

Detective Inspector Richard Kempshall, leading the investigation, said:

"My team are working diligently to establish the full circumstances of this tragic incident. We have arrested a suspect, and at this stage, we are not seeking additional individuals in connection with the case."

Police are appealing for witnesses who were in the area of Cowley High Street at the time of the incident.

DI Kempshall urged the public to review any doorbell or camera footage that may assist the investigation.

"Any information, no matter how small, could be vital", he added.

MISSING PERSON: ONE YEAR SINCE NAZIRE KORELI'S DISAPPEARANCE | INFORMING BRITAIN ON CRIME

One year after Nazire Koreli vanished from her home in Welling, Southeast London, her family are still pleading for answers and urging anyone with information to come forward.

Nazire, 55, was last seen near her Axminster Crescent home in September 2024.

She was reported missing to the Metropolitan Police on Friday, 28 February 2025, after growing concerns for her welfare.

Despite extensive efforts by Metropolitan Police's Specialist Crime Unit, including searches of her home and reviews of hundreds of hours of CCTV footage, her whereabouts remain unknown.

In a significant development, a man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of Nazire's murder on Monday, 10 March 2025.

He has since been released on bail as enquiries continue.

Nazire's daughter has appealed directly for the public's assistance:

“My world stood still the day I discovered my mother was missing. Since then, not a day has passed without questions. She was a beloved teacher for many years, a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and now a grandmother. I've had to learn to live with the unknown and be strong for my family's sake, but life will never be the same without answers. If you have any information, no matter how small, please contact the police. Even the tiniest detail could make a difference."

Detective Chief Inspector Wayne Jolley of Specialist Crime South, said:

"It's been a year since Nazire was last seen, and her family are still without the answers they deserve. We remain optimistic that Nazire will be found safe and well. She had many friends in the Bexley area, and we urge anyone who knew her to think back to the period between September 2024 and March 2025. Nazire is described as slim, with light brown hair and olive skin. If you’ve seen her, please contact us.”

The independent charity CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to £20,000 for information that could assist the investigation.

The charity guarantees complete anonymity for anyone who contacts them, and the reward is available for three months

TROWBRIDGE: TWO AMBULANCE WORKERS ARRESTED OVER SIX DEATHS IN WILTSHIRE | INFORMING BRITAIN ON CRIME

Wiltshire Police have arrested two Ambulance Service workers on suspicion of Gross Negligence Manslaughter in connection with the deaths of six adults, following a two-year investigation.

The arrests relate to incidents involving patients in and around Wiltshire, with the probe launched after a report was made to the force in 2023.

A man in his 30s from West Wiltshire, understood to be a paramedic based at Trowbridge Ambulance Station, was arrested in June 2024 on suspicion of six counts of Gross Negligence Manslaughter and four counts of ill-treatment or Wilful Neglect by a Care Worker.

A 59-year-old woman, believed to be an Emergency Care Assistant at the same station, was arrested in March this year on suspicion of Gross Negligence Manslaughter.

Both individuals, who were employed by the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT), have been released on conditional bail while enquiries continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Phil Walker, from Wiltshire Police's Major Crime Investigation Team, said:

"We can confirm that a major investigation is underway relating to several adult deaths in and around Wiltshire.

"This investigation has been ongoing since an initial report was made to Wiltshire Police in 2023 and detailed enquiries have been undertaken since to ascertain the facts.

"Our focus is on supporting the families and loved ones of those who have died, and we would ask the media to respect their privacy at this time."

DCI Walker added that dozens of Ambulance Service staff have been interviewed as part of the investigation.

SWASFT confirmed that it became aware of concerns and immediately launched an internal investigation, leading to a prompt referral to the police.

A spokesperson for the NHS Trust, said:

"As soon as the Trust became aware of any concerns, we immediately initiated an internal investigation which resulted in a prompt police referral, and we have been working closely with them as part of the ongoing investigation.

"Two members of staff were suspended. The suspension of the two members of staff meant that they were immediately relieved of all duties, including the treatment of patients.

"We would like to reassure people that this is an isolated situation and there is no ongoing risk to patients. Please continue to call 999 in a life-threatening emergency.

"One of the two individuals that were initially suspended is no longer employed by The Trust.

"Due to the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment at this stage."

In a confidential internal email to staff, SWASFT explained that the probe followed a concern raised by the NHS Trust to Wiltshire Police, resulting in the immediate suspension of one member of staff and their subsequent dismissal, followed by the suspension of a second.

The email reiterated that the suspensions ensured the individuals were relieved of all patient-facing duties.

The NHS Trust, which covers the South West region, was last rated 'good' overall by the Care Quality Commission watchdog.

Police have only now released details of the arrests and investigation, which has been described as relating to an 'isolated incident' by SWASFT.

No charges have been brought at this stage, and the investigation remains active.
