The attack occurred on the 18:25 LNER service from Peterborough to Horsham.

At approximately 19:42, passengers reported a man stabbing multiple individuals onboard.

The Train Driver, Andrew Johnson, diverted the service to an unscheduled stop at Huntingdon Station, facilitating rapid police intervention.

Johnson, a driver of over 20 years with LNER and a former Royal Navy member, credited his colleagues for their bravery.

Onboard, staff and passengers confronted the assailant, halting his progress.

One crew member sustained grievous injuries and remains in critical but stable condition.

Stephen Crean - a victim - described a confrontation where the attacker asked; "Do you want die?" before inflicting a sliced injury to his left hand.

Scunthorpe United footballer Jonathan Gjoshe was slashed across the bicep.
