LIVERPOOL: LIVERPOOL FOOTBALL CLUB COMMENTS ON ROAD COLLISION AT THEIR CELEBRATION PARADE | INFORMING BRITAIN

​Merseyside Police are responding to a serious road traffic incident in Liverpool City Centre this evening.

At approximately 18:00 on Monday 26 May, authorities were alerted to a collision involving a car and multiple pedestrians on Water Street. 

The vehicle involved remained at the scene, and a male suspect is currently in custody.

Emergency Services are currently at the scene, managing the situation.

Following a statement given by UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer, Liverpool Football Club released a comment offering their support for those affected. 

A spokesperson for Liverpool Football Club's Social Media team, said: 

"We are in direct contact with Merseyside Police regarding the incident on Water Street which happened towards the end of the trophy parade earlier this evening.  Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected by this serious incident.  We will continue to offer our full support to the emergency services and local authorities who are dealing with this incident".

Police are urging the public not to share distressing content online and instead to provide any relevant footage or information directly to investigators.

Further details are yet to be released as the investigation continues.
