SPOILERS: ARE SADIE AND ROBERT GETTING CLOSER TO JIMMY'S LOOT? | INFORMING BRITAIN ON EMMERDALE21/9/2026 Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) and Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) suspect that Jimmy's money is held at the depot.
Robert soon advises Sadie to abandon the search. Sadie declines and states that they are to continue looking, on the basis that the sum remains worth pursuing. James Chase is to make a dramatic return later this year, reprising his role as the menacing Tom King. Earlier episodes of the long-running Serial Drama based in Yorkshire established a Domestic Abuse narrative in which Tom King (James Chase) subjected Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) to Coercive Control. That period included psychological abuse, cyber-stalking and harm to the family pet, Piper. The conduct resulted in a conviction and a prison sentence. Tom is now eligible for parole. His reappearance places Belle in contact with that history once more. Upcoming episodes of Emmerdale will examine whether The Dingle Family are able to keep Tom from returning to Emmerdale Village and whether Belle remains free of his influence, or whether he again directs those around her. Series Producer Laura Shaw states that the return is intended to resume a complex story. Belle receives news that Tom is due for parole and is required to address events she had previously sought to leave behind. With her family and her partner Kammy Hadiq (Shebz Miah) present, the episodes address the continuing effect of Tom’s actions as Belle attempts to keep him away from Emmerdale village. James Chase states that he regards the role as a responsibility.
He describes Tom as a character motivated by obsession and a need for control, and notes the difficulty of returning to that outlook. The actor adds that viewers already know Tom’s record, and that the coming episodes are to show the measures Tom takes to obtain what he wants, including efforts to undo Belle's present circumstances. Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) and Gabby fall out over the healthy-eating menu at The Hide and over their poor finances. Laurel walks out of the business. Gabby coughs into a tissue and, unseen, finds that she has coughed up blood. Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) remains nearby and takes satisfaction from the failure of their business plan. When the cough does not improve, Manpreet asks Gabby back to the surgery for blood tests. After hearing Gabby repeat conspiracy claims about pharmaceutical companies, and after grasping what her Social Media reels contain, Manpreet calls Gabby in again.

Joe leaves the burial, resulting in Kim & Graham arguing over his absence and the family's future. Joe later visits a grave and states an intention of vengeance for Dawn's death. It becomes apparent that Ruby Fox-Miligan (Beth Cordingly) has been abducted and shut in the coffin by Joe while still alive. Joe stands over Caleb Miligan (William Ash), who is in a weakened state, and issues a warning about events that follow. Joe indicates that Ruby has been placed in danger and refers to the position this creates. Ruby regains consciousness inside the coffin and is unable to leave it. She loses strength and falls silent as the air supply diminishes. Caleb attempts to locate a weapon to fight Joe but he is only laughed at. Joe discloses that Ruby has been buried alive, after which Caleb requests her release. Joe declines and blames Caleb for Dawn's untimely death. Will Ruby make it out in time or have a catch up with Dawn sooner than she thought? IT'S CONFESSION TIME FOR VINNY Kev Barton (Chris Coghill) tells Vinny Dingle (Bradley Johnson) to maintain composure and proceed with the plan to marry Lewis Barton (Bradley Riches). Vinny states that he intends to do the right thing. Kev interprets this as a reference to reconciliation with Lewis. Vinny then seeks out Nicola King (Nicola Wheeler) and states that he caused the car accident in which Jimmy King and Dawn died, having used his Mobile Phone at the time. Nicola arrives at The Woolpack and directs Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) to speak about Dawn, continuing until Gabby offers a few words. Nicola then states publicly that Vinny caused the accident while on the phone to Gabby. Vinny arrives at Home Farm and repeats the same account to Joe. Joe remains silent. Carl Holliday (Charlie Munro Joyce), having learned of Vinny's role in Jimmy's death, states that he is preparing a video for the funeral and that voice messages have been found on Jimmy's laptop. Nicola takes the laptop from Carl and searches through it. What will she find on the device? CAIN PUTS ON A UNITED FRONT WITH MOIRA Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) assumes Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) withheld his cancer diagnosis from Sadie King (Patsy Kensit) because he enjoyed the attention. Cain states that he remained silent because Sadie had spoken to him about the loss of their child. A grim week lies ahead in Yorkshire Dales, with Charity Dingle's prison ordeal taking a darker turn, Sadie King's scheming reaching a dangerous pitch, and Joe Tate revealing a cold, calculated side as he prepares to bury Dawn Fletcher. Charity's situation inside grows increasingly bleak. A lockdown leads to a cell search in which officers find white powder. After a humiliating full-body search she suffers a PTSD-induced panic attack and is placed in segregation. Back in the village, Mackenzie Boyd tries and fails to pressure Serena Sugden into helping her. Chas Dingle then demands a family meeting, where she and Mackenzie lean hard on Sarah Sugden to change her statement. Mackenzie even threatens to expose Sarah's crimes and Leyla Sugden's paternity to Jacob. Cain Dingle backs Sarah and clashes with Mackenzie over his aggression. Eventually, Sarah breaks down and confesses everything to Jacob Gallagher. His reaction remains the great unknown. Meanwhile, Sadie is working a longer, colder game. She manipulates a grieving Nicola King into handing over her house keys, which she then passes to Robert Sugden for a burglary. Robert comes close to being caught inside Nicola's home but slips away. S Sadie keeps up the pretence of friendship at The Hide, where Gabby Thomas even covers their lunch bill. After Robert and Sadie fail to find any money they plan a trip to Whitby (Jimmy King's favourite place) in search of clues. Sadie is visibly rattled when she spots Cain. She also has a hostile run-in with Kim Tate that leaves Eric Pollard and Moira Dingle worried she has returned only to cause trouble. Later she visits Cain and demands the money he stole from her. He refuses to engage. Until she drops a bombshell. At Home Farm, Kim presses DS Ramsden for progress on the crash investigation. Joe, however, insists on a private funeral with no guests except himself, leaving Kim dismayed. Billy confronts him and is told, coldly, that neither he nor the children are invited. Devastated, Billy Fletcher later lashes out at a passing Ruby Fox-Miligan over her part in Dawn's death. Ruby then goes to Home Farm to plead for the children to be allowed to attend. Joe remains unmoved, rejecting her and warning that the conversation could turn ugly if she does not leave. After speaking with Clemmie Reed he relents and agrees that Billy and the children may come. Yet Joe tells Graham Foster he has not turned a corner.
