CHANTELLE ESCAPES BUT NOT WITH THE KIDS | EASTENDERS SPOILERS

Since EastEnders returned to BBC One after CoronaVirus shut down production, the abused Chantelle Atkins (Jessica Plummer) has put the wheels-in-motion to divorce her abuser Gray Atkins (Toby-Alexander Smith) and take their children with her. 

Trying to disguise her departure from Gray by making out it was a last minute holiday arranged by Karen Taylor (Lorraine Stanley) & Mitch Baker (Roger Griffiths), Chantelle had her suitcase packed full of her kids' things.  All ready to make her move until Gray found out things weren't quite right with the whole arrangement. 

Asking Mia Atkins (Mahalia Malcolm) about what she knew of the holiday, Gray was told by the girl that she knew about it for days thus meaning it was never a spur of the moment deal from Karen & Mitch. 

At the Doof Doof of tonight's (Monday 14 September 2020) episode written by Pete Lawson, Gray was seen delivering another emotional blow to Chantelle by informing her he'd unpacked their children's things and made it out like he was giving Chantelle a well deserved break from the family. 

As Mia & Mackenzie Atkins (Isaac Lemonius) waved from the upstairs windows, Chantelle's world - and plans - crumbled around her.  

Visibly upset, Chantelle had no choice but to go with her parents on holiday and leave her kids behind.
