With Oliver still in grave danger, Steve McDonald (Simon Gregson) turns to food for comfort and makes a beeline for Roy's Rolls for a sausage bun. Upon entering the cafe, Steve orders what he wants but Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) throws a spanner in the works and announces it is a "Veggie Day" thus putting an end to Steve's hankering for sausages. Steve will become irate and march out of the cafe but that won't be the last Nina had seen of him, he'll later return brandishing a packet of sausages to wave them in front of Nina's face. Initiating a "Sausage Protest" in the cafe, Steve is not backing down, until Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) enters. Thankfully for Nina, Leanne will come to the rescue as she realises Steve is holding visceral worry for their son and that's what is making Steve behave in the way he is. Leanne will eventually manage to take Steve back to his house where she'll cook his beloved sausages (not an innuendo).
