Overview: The 28 April 2025 episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, broadcast live on Netflix from T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri.

It delivered a high-energy show with significant developments post-WrestleMania 41.  The episode advanced key storylines, particularly around Sami Zayn, Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and the Women's Intercontinental Championship, while setting up matches for the upcoming WWE Backlash event.

The commentary team of Sir Michael Cole and Pat McAfee provided lively narration, with Alicia Taylor serving as the lead ring announcer.

Detailed Recap and Match Results:

Opening Segment: Sami Zayn Confronts Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and Paul Heyman

Sami Zayn opened the show addressing his ongoing feud with Seth Rollins, Bron Breakker, and WWE Hall Of Famer Paul Heyman.

Heyman presented Zayn with an ultimatum: leave Monday Night Raw to avoid becoming a target, or go to Friday Night SmackDown and get an Undisputed WWE Championship match against either John Cena or Randy Orton.

Zayn defiantly refused, declaring his intent to stay and fight.

The segment escalated when Bron Breakker attacked Zayn with multiple spears, followed by Seth Rollins delivering a Stomp, leaving Zayn battered.  This set a hostile tone for the night and hinted at a potential faction led by Heyman, Rollins, and Breakker.

No match occurred, but the segment established Zayn as a resilient babyface and intensified his rivalry with Rollins and Breakker.

Match 1: Rhea Ripley Vs. Roxanne Perez (Singles Match)

Rhea Ripley faced NXT's Roxanne Perez following a prior altercation.  The match was competitive, with Ripley dominating early with her power-based offence.

The bout ended in disqualification when Giulia, an emerging heel, attacked Ripley from behind as she prepared to hit the Riptide. Post-match, Perez and Giulia continued their assault until Women's World Champion Iyo Sky intervened, aiding Ripley and chasing off the attackers.

Result: Rhea Ripley def. Roxanne Perez by disqualification.

This match furthered Ripley’s storyline with Iyo Sky and introduced Giulia as a threat, potentially setting up a multi-woman feud.

Segment: Jey Uso and Logan Paul Confrontation

World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso was interrupted by Logan Paul, leading to a heated verbal exchange.  The confrontation turned physical when Uso superkicked Paul, asserting his dominance.

No match, but this advanced Uso's championship reign and hinted at a future challenge from Paul, possibly at Backlash.

The crowd reacted strongly to Uso’s babyface persona, and Paul’s heel antics kept him relevant in the title picture.

Match 2: War Raiders (Erik / Ivar) Vs. Finn Bálor / JD McDonagh (Tag Team Match)

The War Raiders, the former World Tag Team Champions, faced The Judgment Day's Finn Bálor and JD McDonagh.

The match showcased War Raiders' power against The Judgment Day.

Penta, seeking revenge against The Judgment Day, interfered, costing Bálor and McDonagh the match. This allowed The War Raiders to capitalise and secure the victory.

Result: War Raiders def. Finn Bálor / JD McDonagh.

Penta's interference suggests a brewing feud with The Judgment Day, while War Raiders continue to dominate the tag division in hope of a future rematch for the World Tag Team Championship.

Match 3: Stephanie Vaquer Vs. Ivy Nile (Non-Title Singles Match)

NXT Women's Champion Stephanie Vaquer competed in a non-title match against Alpha Academy's Ivy Nile.

Vaquer showcased her technical prowess, ultimately winning with her signature SVB (a high-impact manoeuvre).

Result: Stephanie Vaquer def. Ivy Nile.

This match elevated Vaquer's presence on the main roster, hinting at potential call-ups or cross-brand challenges.  Nile's performance kept her credible despite the loss.

Segment: Lyra Valkyria and Becky Lynch Brawl

Women's Intercontinental Champion Lyra Valkyria addressed her recent title defences and was confronted by Becky Lynch, who challenged her for the title at WWE Backlash.  The exchange turned physical, with both women brawling until officials separated them.

No match, but the segment confirmed Valkyria Vs. Lynch for the Women's Intercontinental Championship at Backlash.

This feud adds prestige to the new title, with Lynch’s star power elevating Valkyria’s reign.

Segment: Pat McAfee vs. Gunther Tease

Following Gunther's attack on Pat McAfee the previous week on Monday Night Raw, McAfee verbally retaliated, calling out the former World Heavyweight Champion.  Pat McAfee wanted Gunther's recent suspension lifted but Acting Raw General Manager Nick Aldis declined however offered McAfee a match with Gunther at WWE Backlash.  McAfee accepted.

No match, but the segment kept Gunther relevant and teased an unconventional match with McAfee.

McAfee's involvement adds a unique dynamic, though some fans may question the booking of a commentator in a high-profile feud.

Match 4: Sami Zayn Vs. Bron Breakker (Singles Match)

The main event saw Sami Zayn take on Bron Breakker, following the earlier attack. Zayn showed resilience, but the match was stopped by the referee due to Breakker's relentless assault, including multiple spears.

Result: No official winner (match stopped by referee).

The non-finish protected Zayn's credibility while reinforcing Breakker's dominance.  This likely sets up a rematch or a larger storyline involving Rollins and Heyman.
