Former pupils Donte and Chloe are excited about daughter Izzy's first day at school, and while things get off to a bumpy start, events inspire the girl in a way she would never have expected. Headteacher Kim Campbell tries to deal with a peaceful protest - only for it to escalate into a full-blown riot. When the students begin fighting back and a full-on rebellion threatens to disrupt any sense of order, headteacher Kim Campbell is forced into drastic action. Waterloo Road is reborn. Meet the new class of 2023, alongside some familiar faces returning to BBC One and BBC iPlayer, bringing with them brand new dramas.
