In the penultimate episode of the critically acclaimed fourth series.

An old case puts a stop to Dean's work plans and awakens insecurities for DI Manning, causing him to have second thoughts about his future in the force.

The Major Investigation Unit are put under further pressure by the arrival of an assessor from Divisional Headquarters, who puts their work practices under the microscope.

As Dean's grief finally begins to show, DS Townsend and DS Hobson discover evidence a key witness in the investigation lied about his alibi, leaving them hurrying to track him down before it is too late.

When young mum of four, Beth Metcalf, dies in what seems to be a targeted attack, Morecambe Police's Major Investigation Unit are called to the scene.

Jenn immediately realises this shattered family will need every support available to them.
