Chickenpox is common and mostly affects children, although you can get it at any age.
Chickenpox usually gets better by itself within a week without needing to see a General Practitioner.
Chickenpox is a highly contagious viral infection that spreads easily from person to person.
It causes an itchy rash with small blisters and can make you feel unwell.
Flu-like symptoms such as fever, fatigue, loss of appetite, body aches, and headache.
These symptoms typically start a day or two before a rash appears.
Red spots appear on the face and chest, eventually spreading over the entire body.
These red spots will become itchy.
