This week in Shieldinch.

Lenny's homecoming is overshadowed by recent shocking revelations.

Darren's attempts to woo Nicole go awry.

While Caitlin grows suspicious of Ellie's secretive behaviour, Karen finally finds some common ground with Jessie.

Troubled by Rachel Grant's confession, Lenny turns to his loyal confidant, Mick Mulvaney, for guidance.  Mulvaney disputes claims that Lydia is alive, adamant that they are just hurtful lies, but reluctantly agrees to see what he can uncover for Lenny.

After an awkward exchange with Mulvaney in the street, Amber suspects her father is keeping something from the family, and corners Lenny, demanding to know what’s going on.  She is shocked to hear about the attempted hit, but Lenny stops at telling her about the Lydia revelations -  for now.

Elsewhere, Darren turns to Suzie for advice on how to win Nicole's affections.  Suzie sets about creating the perfect date at Molly's Corner complete with champagne, chocolates and flowers, but Bernie's behaviour threatens to ruin the romance.

Stressed about her debts, Caitlin remains resolute about the decision to reject Uncle John's inheritance, little realising Ellie has taken it instead.  However, when Caitlin spots Ellie talking to Laura, the lawyer, she grows suspicious of her sister.

Meanwhile, Ellie's guilt grows and she turns to Roisin for advice who tells her what she already knows: it's only a matter of time before Caitlin uncovers the truth.

Karen and Jessie spend the day together and finally begin to open up to one another. Jessie talks to Karen about online dating, but Karen is clearly unsettled by messages on her phone and her mind elsewhere.

Lenny is back and sets his sights on confronting a blast from the past.

Nicole is spurned by Darren.

Bernie and Suzie hatch a fundraising plan for Molly's Corner.

Overwhelmed with money worries, Caitlin confides in Ellie.  When her lawyer, Laura, tries to contact her, Caitlin assumes she’s chasing payment - however there is a shock in store.

At a meeting with Laura, Caitlin is stunned to discover that John has gifted her a sizeable inheritance.  But there is a hitch: not a penny of it goes to Maggie.

Torn about what best to do, Caitlin visits Maggie and is encouraged to see her mother so much happier.  As the women talk, Caitlin is reminded about how much trauma John caused, and resigns herself to rejecting the inheritance.

Knowing Ellie is next in line for the money, Caitlin feels confident that her sister will also turn the money down.  Yet Ellie is enraged at Caitlin's controlling behaviour.

Elsewhere, Lenny is back from Sicily and on a mission to find out who put a hit out on him.  He visits his number one suspect in prison - former police detective, Rachel Grant.

This week in Shieldinch...

Stevie’s day of reckoning arrives as he finally meets his father, Sam Spiller.

Roisin reconnects with Bob, much to the amusement of Angus.

Karen offers Alex business advice which stirs Amber's suspicions.
Picture
Sonny confesses that he duped Stevie's absent father, Sam Spiller, into coming to Shieldinch, under the pretence that Stevie wants to interview him for a music magazine.  Sam assumes that Stevie is a journalist, little realising there is a secret family connection.  As Stevie gets to know Sam, he toys with telling him the truth, but falls short.
Picture
Later, Scarlett is stunned when Sam walks into her shop and is secretly delighted when he recognises her, reminiscing fondly about their teenage love affair.

Touched by Sam's obvious affection for Scarlett, Stevie plucks up the courage and finally tells Sam that he’s his secret son.  After his initial shock, Sam is delighted he is a dad - but his enthusiasm quickly proves overwhelming for Stevie.
Picture
Elsewhere, Roisin asks Bob to spend the day with her, for old time's sake.  Embarrassed to be asked in front of Angus, Bob turns Roisin down, but later reconsiders.  As the old friends reminisce, Bob wonders whether a romance with Roisin might be on the cards again.

Karen offers her property selling expertise to help Alex find a buyer for the Candlerooms.  Amber is less than impressed with her involvement in Murdoch business, warning her brother not to be so trusting.  Alex thinks she is being paranoid, but when Karen later takes an ominous phone call, doubt is cast over her true intentions.

At The Two Jailbirds, Nicole and Darren's flirtatious relationship heats up.  While Darren sees it as a sign she’s interested, Nicole makes it clear it was a fling, nothing more.

Caitlin's vow to protect Maggie falters as her mother's mental health deteriorates.

Angus and Rebecca play Bob at his own game.

Stevie is torn when he finds out the truth about his absent father.
Picture
An anxious Caitlin tries to hide Maggie's drinking relapse, but Ellie is sceptical it was a one off.  Worse still, the sisters find out Maggie stopped taking her medication, and Caitlin's blind faith that all will be well irks Ellie.

Maggie tries to assure Caitlin her hallucinations have stopped and she needs family support - not medication - to get better. Ellie turns to Roisin for advice, but Maggie is suspicious of her concern, fearing that she’ll be sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

As Maggie dramatically falls apart she lashes out at Caitlin, who reluctantly concedes that Roisin might be the only one who can make Maggie seek much-needed help.

Elsewhere, Angus and Rebecca suspects Bob is playing matchmaker again so they can spend time alone.  Fed up with his interference, the pair plot their revenge, faking an accident at work to force Bob to the garage.

Stevie seeks out Lou who hands him a file on his absent father, Sam Spiller.  The power is in Stevie's hands to seek out his dad, but when Lou tells him he served time for a violent crime, Stevie stalls.  Worried about the repercussions of finding Sam, Stevie confides in Sonny, who takes matters into his own hands.

Suzie and Bernie clash over the opening day plans for Molly's Corner.  Stubborn and headstrong, the women question whether they have what it takes to be business partners.

Guilt weighs heavy on Scarlett as Stevie grieves for the father he never knew.

Jessie attempts to be peacemaker between Alex & Karen and hopes to settle the differences between her parents.

While Ellie nurses a broken heart and puts it all on the line for Amandeep.

Darren has Nicole firmly in his romantic sights.

Nicole explores the opportunity for a new job.

Stevie puts on a wake to honour his father and tries to get Scarlett to relive some memories of what he was like.  She reluctantly reveals they met at a music festival where he was a bass player in his brother's New Romantic band.  Sensing her sister's discomfort, Bernie questions Scarlett who admits that Stevie's dad, Sam, isn't dead after all - she doesn’t know where he is and wants to keep it that way.

Despite Scarlett's pleas - that she’s lying to protect Stevie - Bernie is furious and decides to tell the truth to a shocked Stevie.

Desperate to find his father, Stevie enlists the help of Sonny, but it’s not going to be easy as Scarlett has scant details about Sam to share.
Picture
Jessie is frustrated by Alex and Karen's constant squabbling, little realising today should have been their 20th wedding anniversary.  Jessie turns to Lenny for guidance; he in turn urges Amber to intervene and restore family harmony.  However, as Jessie is stung by some shocking home truths, Alex and Karen’s antagonism turns to attraction and they give in to temptation.

Nicole agrees to an interview with Darren at The Two Jailbirds.  His flirtatious approach only serves to annoy Nicole, who refuses to fall for his charm.  She's had enough of shallow relationships.

This week in Shieldinch.

Roisin encourages Stevie to explore the root of his issues, unsettling Scarlett.

Caitlin is buoyed by Ruby's fundraising idea, while Karen attempts to reconcile with Jessie.

Nicole warms to Darren.

Ellie is left out in the cold by AJ.

During a counselling session Roisin encourages Stevie to open up, and he admits some of his anxiety stems from not knowing who his dad is.  Later, Sonny warns Stevie the search for his father might open a Pandora's Box of emotions.  Undeterred, Stevie plucks up the courage to ask Scarlett for more information, but she makes it clear she’s unwilling to help.

Seeing how distraught her nephew is, Bernie offers Stevie some hope: a photo of his father and the story about how his parents met.  Enraged that Bernie went behind her back, Scarlett drops a bombshell on Stevie.

Elsewhere, Ruby hatches a plan to raise money to pay for Caitlin’s hefty legal fees.  Initially reluctant, Ash comes round to the idea, but his DJ set fails to pull in the punters... or so it seems.

Darren is back in town and - after Suzie suggests he might be the mysterious donor - Nicole begins to wonder if she got him all wrong. Intrigued, Nicole begins to warm to Darren's charm.
