This week in Shieldinch.

An anxious Scarlett awaits news from Andrew following her bombshell revelations.

Caitlin starts prepping for pregnancy, leaving Ellie feeling left out.

While Bob seeks relationship advice from Rebecca, Lenny's growing paranoia takes its toll on Karen.

After revealing all to a stunned Andrew, Scarlett fears the worst.  But when a glum Andrew arrives, Scarlett vows to be honest, despite her growing anxiety.

Andrew is stunned when Scarlett reveals Duncan's deceit and the lengths he went to buy The O'Hara Family's silence.  As Scarlett talks, Andrew struggles to come to terms with the reality of who his father is and what he put Scarlett through.  Together they realise the extent of Duncan’s manipulation and decide to confront him together.

Meanwhile, Bernie is entrusted with the task of keeping Stevie away from his mother - at all costs.

Caitlin excitedly tells Ellie that she has set the wheels in motion for their surrogacy plans.  As she makes pregnancy plans, Ellie feels left out.  Ash senses something is wrong, and Ellie confesses that Caitlin's enthusiasm is too much.  When Ash recalls that Caitlin suffered from post-natal depression after the birth of Ruby, Ellie is worried that history might repeat itself, and makes a bold decision.

When Bob seeks advice from Rebecca about his feelings for Roisin, she suggests that he asks her out for a friendly drink.  But Roisin is less than impressed with Bob's banter.

As Lenny's proof-of-life hunt for Lydia grows, Karen’s anxiety increases.  Feeling under pressure, Karen considers confessing all to an oblivious Alex.

This week in Shieldinch.

Scarlett and Bernie fight back against Duncan by seeking legal advice from an old friend.

Amber struggles to entertain Lenny's pursuit of Lydia.

While Tyler tries to shield Nicole from an increasingly volatile Darren, a health kick is just what the doctor ordered for Gillian and Mikey.

With the threat posed by Duncan looming large, Bernie and Scarlett hatch a plan.  Realising their only option is to stand up to him, the sisters seek legal advice - from Duncan's son and Scarlett's first love, Andrew.

Andrew's arrival in Shieldinch proves nerve-wracking for Scarlett, but the pair reminisce briefly about their past.  But Scarlett's lie -  that she is seeking legal advice for a friend - is soon exposed by Andrew, forcing her to admit the (paternity) truth.

Elsewhere, Lenny attempts to bring a reluctant Amber on side in his hunt for Lydia.  Struggling to comprehend that her mother may have faked her own death,  Amber fears it is too painful to uncover the truth.  However, when Mulvaney is the bearer of bad news, Lenny and Amber must emotionally unite.

Darren shows his true colours to Nicole when he cruelly belittles her.  Knowing all too well how vicious his brother can be, Tyler urges Nicole to be careful.

Later, Darren chides Karen for her lack of progress with spying on Lenny, demanding she improves her efforts.  Fuelled by anger, Darren tells Tyler he has taken matters into his own hands to break Lenny once and for all.

Gillian and Mikey are on a health kick in preparation for a holiday together.  However it doesn’t take long before Mikey's resolve wobbles.

This week in Shieldinch...

Maggie responds to the devastating news of Pete's death by preparing a community tribute - against Caitlin's wishes.

Scarlett confides in Bernie about Duncan's devious deeds.

While Ellie worries Caitlin has changed her mind about being a surrogate, a new doctor arrives in Montego Street.

Stunned by news of Pete's sudden death, Maggie is shocked at Caitlin's reaction.  Determined to mark Pete's passing, Maggie decides to organise a community memorial.  But Caitlin's grief is overshadowed by her anger towards her ex-husband.

Maggie tries to make Caitlin embrace her grief and recognise the good times they had together.  In a painful confession, Maggie admits she is scared Caitlin will refuse to mourn her, just as she is rejecting Pete.  A pained Caitlin relents, but still stubbornly refuses to be involved.

As the community gather to pay their respects, some much-needed light relief comes when Sam and Stevie misunderstand Maggie's 'hero' theme for the memorial.

With the locals fondly remembering their friend, a heartbroken AJ struggles to read the eulogy for his best friend, so Sam steps in, capturing the essence of how loved Pete was by all.  As Caitlin watches on, she decides to bid her own emotional farewell to the love of her life, Pete Galloway.

Elsewhere, Scarlett accidentally lets it slip about Duncan's attempt to buy her silence to a rather shocked Bernie.  Enraged, Bernie confronts Duncan who, in turn, escalates his threats towards Scarlett: if anyone finds out the truth about Stevie's paternity, there will be serious consequences.  Fearing the worst, Ellie grows convinced that a grief-stricken Caitlin has changed her mind about being a surrogate.

Meanwhile, new doctor Gillian Gibson arrives with her assistant Mikey Duffy.  The larger-than-life pair make quite an impact but misinterpret Sonny's talk about a community party - little realising it’s actually a memorial.
Picture
This episode is a special tribute to British actor Andy Gray who died in 2021 and played the character of Pete Galloway in River City from 2016.

It was announced in early August 2018 that Andy Gray would not be returning to post-summer filming of BBC's River City after discovering - whilst in rehearsals for his Edinburgh Fringe show - that he was diagnosed with Myelodysplastic Syndromes.

After a bone marrow transplant from one of his sisters and successful  recovery from cancer in 2019, he contracted CoronaVirus during the COVID-19 Pandemic in December 2020.

Andy Gray died in a medical facility's Intensive Care Unit on Monday 18 January 2021, following complications caused by COVID-19 at the age of 61.

Lenny's homecoming is overshadowed by recent shocking revelations.

Darren's attempts to woo Nicole go awry.

While Caitlin grows suspicious of Ellie's secretive behaviour, Karen finally finds some common ground with Jessie.

Troubled by Rachel Grant's confession, Lenny turns to his loyal confidant, Mick Mulvaney, for guidance.  Mulvaney disputes claims that Lydia is alive, adamant that they are just hurtful lies, but reluctantly agrees to see what he can uncover for Lenny.

After an awkward exchange with Mulvaney in the street, Amber suspects her father is keeping something from the family, and corners Lenny, demanding to know what’s going on.  She is shocked to hear about the attempted hit, but Lenny stops at telling her about the Lydia revelations -  for now.

Elsewhere, Darren turns to Suzie for advice on how to win Nicole's affections.  Suzie sets about creating the perfect date at Molly's Corner complete with champagne, chocolates and flowers, but Bernie's behaviour threatens to ruin the romance.

Stressed about her debts, Caitlin remains resolute about the decision to reject Uncle John's inheritance, little realising Ellie has taken it instead.  However, when Caitlin spots Ellie talking to Laura, the lawyer, she grows suspicious of her sister.

Meanwhile, Ellie's guilt grows and she turns to Roisin for advice who tells her what she already knows: it's only a matter of time before Caitlin uncovers the truth.

Karen and Jessie spend the day together and finally begin to open up to one another. Jessie talks to Karen about online dating, but Karen is clearly unsettled by messages on her phone and her mind elsewhere.

Elsewhere, Roisin asks Bob to spend the day with her, for old time's sake.  Embarrassed to be asked in front of Angus, Bob turns Roisin down, but later reconsiders.  As the old friends reminisce, Bob wonders whether a romance with Roisin might be on the cards again.

Angus and Rebecca play Bob at his own game.

Stevie is torn when he finds out the truth about his absent father.

Maggie tries to assure Caitlin her hallucinations have stopped and she needs family support - not medication - to get better. Ellie turns to Roisin for advice, but Maggie is suspicious of her concern, fearing that she’ll be sectioned under the Mental Health Act.

As Maggie dramatically falls apart she lashes out at Caitlin, who reluctantly concedes that Roisin might be the only one who can make Maggie seek much-needed help.

Elsewhere, Angus and Rebecca suspects Bob is playing matchmaker again so they can spend time alone.  Fed up with his interference, the pair plot their revenge, faking an accident at work to force Bob to the garage.

Stevie seeks out Lou who hands him a file on his absent father, Sam Spiller.  The power is in Stevie's hands to seek out his dad, but when Lou tells him he served time for a violent crime, Stevie stalls.  Worried about the repercussions of finding Sam, Stevie confides in Sonny, who takes matters into his own hands.

Despite Scarlett's pleas - that she’s lying to protect Stevie - Bernie is furious and decides to tell the truth to a shocked Stevie.
