Nina drives Carla batty.  Carla chats to Nina as she watches her sew.  When Carla reveals that Roy’s going bat watching later, Nina's ears prick up.

Amy, Simon and Asha reveal that they’re off to a gig in town tonight, Carla persuades them to let Nina tag along too.  Carla tells Nina about the gig this evening but Nina is not keen and admits that she’d rather go bat watching with Roy.  At Carla’s instigation, Roy agrees to take Nina bat watching with him.  Roy and Nina spend the evening in a derelict building watching for bats and discovering that they have much in common.

Adam stirs Gary's insecurities.  As Maria cuts Brian’s hair, she tells him how Gary has invited her to meet him in The Rovers for some a little bit of the bubbly to celebrate their engagement.  Gary is surprised when at a house clearance job he bumps into Sharon - who arrives to collect the old man’s debt.  When she suggests he join forces with her he is tempted but eventually refuses.  Back on the street he approaches Adam who is about to leave for his honeymoon but he’s shocked with what Adam has to say.  Maria waits in the pub for Gary unaware of his conversation with Adam.  Gary seeks out Ryan and demands to know if there is anything going on between Ali and Maria.  Scared Ryan tells him it is just someone spreading lies.  Ryan finds Ali and tells him that he has saved his bacon.  A simmering Gary finally arrives in the Weatherfield boozer.  Oblivious to his mood, tipsty Maria kisses him and tells him she can’t wait to be his wife.  Gary secretly calls Sharon and offers her Rick’s old client list in return for a favour.

Meanwhile, Craig struggles to keep up.  Beth drops a cake round for Craig.  Craig reluctantly accepts it but points out he could really do with losing some weight.  Brian hotfoots it from The Kabin after a shoplifter.  Craig gives chase but soon finds himself out of breath and gives up.  Craig confides in Kirk how his colleagues at work make jibes about his size and it’s time he did something about it.  Craig reveals that he intends to get fit and take up running.  At Toyah’s insistence, Imran finds himself agreeing to join him on his fitness routine.

Elsewhere, a nervous Aggie sets off for her first day back in a nursing job.  Edison wishes her luck.  Edison apologises to James and admits he totally overreacted and should never have spoken to Danny like he did.  James remains hurt and angry but agrees they should make an effort for Aggie’s sake.  Aggie arrives in the pub and assures Edison that her first day went well.  When James announces that Aggie has won the Weatherfield Golden Heart award, Edison hugs her, and raises a toast.  Aggie is embarrassed at the fuss.
