River City is a BBC Studios production for BBC One/BBC Scotland.
Rory toys with Alex, leading to dangerous consequences.
A smitten Dylan fears he’s missed his chance with Ruby.
Scarlett attempts to fix the fall-out between Bob and Angus.
Rory sets his sights on Alex, denying to Lenny that he intends to cause Alex any harm. But Rory has ulterior motives, and dupes Alex into thinking he’s a dutiful brother. At The Tall Ship he fills Alex with booze before hitting the hard stuff at the club, where Rory finally drops his act, telling his brother exactly how he feels before knocking him out.
Just as Rory plans to take his revenge, Lenny storms in and demands that he let Alex go. Rory goads Lenny into getting rid of Alex once and for all but is thwarted.
However, when Alex’s excesses finally catch up with him and he suffers a heart attack, Rory stands over him knowing he holds his brother’s life in his hands.
Christmas brings Dylan and Ruby closer together. Knowing Dylan wants more than just friendship, Ruby tries to kiss him under the mistletoe - but is shocked when he panics and rejects her, fearing she feels sorry for him.
Meanwhile, realising his mistake, Dylan enlists Ellie’s help with a big romantic gesture to win his relationship with Ruby back, little realising there’s someone from the past watching on.
Elsewhere, Scarlett is concerned to discover Bob and Angus have fallen out and takes drastic action to make the friends build bridges.
