Since David Platt (Jack P. Shepherd) was told that his wife, Shona Platt (Julia Goulding), wants a divorce he has been slowly going on a downward spiral.
Picture
In recent episodes, viewers will have already seen that David had taken up a relationship with Alina Pop (Ruxandra Porojnicu) which doesn't sit well with Gail Rodwell (Helen Worth) and in the Monday 30 March 2020 episode, fans will see David storm out of the family home then subsequently wander the Weatherfield streets while drinking.
Picture
Noticing his vulnerability, a group of muggers will target the troubled Platt thus introducing Steven Gidwaney in his first televised role as an actor.

In his first ever interviews, he spoke exclusively to AndyGibsonTV.com regarding his time on the famous cobbles.
Picture
In a culmination of two interviews, here is what Steven told AndyGibsonTV.com:
Andy Gibson: Hello, so good to hear your voice.

Steven Gidwaney: And yours, mate. Better than speaking on bloody Twitter, innit.

AG: What did ITV have you do in the audition?

SG: In the audition it was a case of I went into the room with the Casting Director and the Director.  We had a laugh about Netflix for 5 or 10 minutes then we did a read (of the script) and then I left.

AG: You didn't do any live-action stuff?

SG: No, no, no, no.

AG: As a new, up-and-coming actor, what's the process of getting into Coronation Street, did you go to the gates or what's the deal there? It must be a bit scary.

SG: Yeah, you go to the studios on Trafford Wharf.  You go to the gate, there's security on the gate, who asks your name and what you're there for and stuff like that.  They'll then see if your name is on the list and then decide if you'll be given a pass or not.  Then you'll hopefully see the sign saying "The Tony Warren Building".

AG: So, when you got in, who did they get you working with?

SG: When I was doing the actual episode?

AG: Yeah...

SG: It was Jack. P. Shepherd/David Platt.

AG: Excellent!

SG: Yeah, it was a lot of fun.  He's a good lad.

AG: I've met him once, he's a legend.

SG: Yeah, he really is a top lad.  He looked after me in my two days there and I'm really appreciative of that.

AG: Did you see anybody else?

SG: Yeah, it was a bit weird for me, because... It was me - obviously I'm not giving too much away.  In the scene I'm involved in there's a gang of about five of us and the other four, for whatever reason, were taken care of different areas of the building.  As for me, they took me into make-up, make-up said "you don't need nothing because you already look like the person we need you for" which I'm not sure if that was a compliment or not...

BOTH: *Laughs...*

SG: If you see the role then you'll understand what I mean.  Basically, just to put context to it, I attempt to mug David Platt.

AG: You attempt to mug David Platt?

SG: So, she (make-up) basically said "because you already look like a mugger".  I thought that's fair enough - gets me work - I'm happy with that.

AG: To be fair they do have a point...

SG: Yeah... *laughs profusely*... I blame me mother... *laughs*

SG: Anyway, I went to costume for fitting and then they said "go upstairs and sit in the Green Room".  I got in there, made m'self a coffee and all that and popped me head up because I see someone walking past and it was Steve McDonald, then I thought "right, okay, stay calm, don't get too star struck, then Michael Le Vell/Kevin Webster was there and a few others.  That was on the first day, so I'll be honest, I was silent I was sat in the corner (nervously) thinking 'I don't belong here'.  I'm just waiting for me call and I'm going but the next day, I seen Simon (Steve McDonald) again, and we end up having a bit of a chat with him.  I seen Kate Ford (portrays Tracy McDonald), Sally Ann Matthews (portrays Jenny Connor), Alison King (portrays Carla Connor), David Neilson (portrays Roy Cropper), yeah I seen a fair few of them.  They're a good bunch of people.

AG: Kate Ford and Alison King have a huge fandom on Twitter, can you tell us anything more about them?

SG: To be honest, I didn't get a chance to speak to them, it was more of a "hi, what are you here playing?" kind of thing.  Obviously it was the first time I've been there working so I was a bit nervous to, like, speak to them and stuff like that.  It was on the second day I seen Kate Ford and all that I was only in the Green Room for about 5 or 10 minutes until Jack came in then we got the call saying we're going (on set).

AG: The whole cast, crew and everybody there; people keep saying they're so welcoming and stuff...

SG: Oh they are...

AG: ...they look after you - is that actually true?

SG: Oh, yeah.  Massively true!  The people I fondly remember for looking after me were Matt Hilton the director and I can't remember her name - I'm gutted I can't remember her name - they were really good with me in regards to telling me exactly what they wanted and keeping me in-the-loop with stuff like that.  Jack, I felt kind of took me under his wing when I was speaking to him.  The main people, and I'll be honest, who really looked after me was the make-up team and the costume.  They stay on-set and they've got, like, the big warm coats and stuff like that.
Picture
Steven Gidwaney, continues: Obviously we had Storm Ciara, which has been absolutely baltic, and literally after every single scene they're coming over to you, putting the coat on you.  They're giving you hot water bottles.  They're giving you handwarmers.  They're giving you absolutely everything to make sure your absolutely comfortable.  That stuck with me because I'm not one of the main stars so they didn't really have to bother with me because I'm only there for two days.  It was never like "he's only there for two days, I don't give a shit".  It wasn't like that at all, they were very attentive in regards to making me comfortable so they were really good like that.

AG: So, they treated you like one of the team?

SG: Yeah, definitely.  I genuinely felt like part of the team.

AG: Tell us more about your character, does he have a name?

SG: I don't, I'm just called "Mugger".  I'm just called "Mugger" but it's still going to have my name on the credits, so I don't care.

AG: Hey, it's a start.

SG: It is.  It's the first TV credit *and I've been working for 5 years to get that so I'm happy with that.

AG: The fandom of Coronation Street is an institution of its own, are you ready for more exposure?

SG: To be honest, I've not really thought about it because I don't think it's going to happen that way.  Don't get me wrong, if I get more followers on Social Media and sweet messages, I'll be more than happy with replying but I don't see it escalating that much.  I will be doing the standard picture of the credit on the TV, or of me on the TV.  In regards to some other kind of fandom, I'm not prepared for it because I don't think it's going to happen.  Just got to see what the future holds.

AG: You said you attempt to mug David Platt, who's a flagship character in the programme.  Your picture will possibly feature in the soap magazines...

SG: My mum said that!

BOTH: *Laughs*

SG: In my personal opinion, in regards to that, I don't think it's going to happen but there was paps there so if a picture does end up in magazines I'll be like "right, cool, that's a first time".  I get excited for things like that on the first day.  I remember when my Agent called telling me I got it, I was estatic.  I could not take the smile off my face.  I was giggling at everything.  After an hour I calmed down and thought; 'OK, you've got this. This is what you've been working for.  This is your job so go to it and do your best and see what happens'.

AG: What parts of the set were you working on?

SG: The first day was on location in a quiet part of Salford.  Then the second day it was the new bit. I got to walk past The Rovers and all that to get to it.

AG: That was your manor?

SG: Yes.  That was my manor, and I made sure it was my manor that day.

AG: Is there a possibility you'll be back?

SG: Erm... I'll be honest with you, with this character I don't think so. It was me and a gang of lads trying to mug someone and it's not like it's not happened before. But, I like to think I got on with everybody.  I had a laugh with the crew, make-up team, the runners, Jack himself and a few other cast members.  I like to think I've made a good enough impression of myself professionally as an actual actor, that I did my job to the best of my ability but also personally to the point where I hope they'll go "you know what, he's a nice lad, we'll have him back" because obviously they don't want to work with an idiot.  If they can work with someone they get along with - and can do the job - then that's who'll get called back.  Hopefully they'll have me back because it was an absolute pleasure, but we'll see.

Picture
It's been a couple months of viewers knowing that Suki Kaur Panesar (Balivinder Sopal) is living a lie and tonight - in true EastEnders fashion - her game was up.
Picture
Egged on by Shirley Carter (Linda Henry), Jean Slater (Gillian Wright) has been on the fence in relation to Suki's cancer diagnosis so tonight was the night Jean did some investigating.
Jean began her day making cakes with Shirley for a Coffee Morning with fellow cancer survivors later in the day.  Jean vowed to get to the bottom of Suki's apparent lie.
Later at the Coffee Morning, Jean put her plan into action and started to point out the discrepancies in Suki's fibs as she informed the group how hard it was for her to eat due to the immense fatigue rigourous cancer treatment causes whereas Suki is effortlessly stuffing her face with Jean's Victoria Sponge.
The group shared their war stories about how they survived until Jean called-out Suki in front of everyone and demanded she share her experiences.
With nothing to explain, Suki reiterated what Jean told her a number of days ago much to Jean's disgust and then the penny dropped, Suki has been lying all along.
Picture
Later in The Queen Vic, Suki arrived with her family for a few drinks then Jean & Shirley walked in to the boozer a while after.  Jean was about to leave when she clocked Suki but Shirley persuaded her to stay.
Eventually, Jean confronted Suki who was surrounded by her children, and Iqra Ahmed (Priya Davdra), telling them all Suki doesn't have cancer.
Initially, her boys and Ash Kaur (Gurlaine Kaur Garcha) stood up for their mother to the point Pavinder "Vinny" Panesar (Shiv Jalota) almost had a fisticuff with Shirley.
Picture
After Jean said her piece she left The Panesars to it.
Back at 5A Albert Square, tensions were at an all-time high until Kheerat Panesar (Jaz Deol) and Ash began to argue it was then Suki revealed her shocking truth that she doesn't have cancer causing her family to be in despair.
Viewers brand Suki a "bitch" on Twitter.

EMMERDALE SPOILERS: MARLON QUITS WORKING AT WOOLPACK AFTER FAMILY DECEIT

5/3/2020

Picture
Charity Dingle (Emma Atkins) had evidence which would have, most certainly, freed Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) from prison after his arrest for the murder of Graham Foster (Andrew Scarborough).
In tonight's episode, viewers saw Mark Charnock deliver a perfect monologue as Marlon disowned his family - even turfing Mandy Dingle (Lisa Riley) out of Tall Trees Cottage.
Marlon knows he is contstantly laughed at by everyone and often branded as "stupid" but today was the day that broke the straw from the camel's back.
In The Woolpack, Marlon said he wouldn't be laughed at anymore and it is time people put him first before shocking the pub regulars with his resignation from being the chef.
How will this affect the family dynamics?  Only one way to find out and that's watch Emmerdale on ITV/STV.
Emmerdale continues on ITV/STV.

EASTENDERS SPOILERS: KIRSTY BLACKMAILS IAN GUNNING FOR THE ARCHES

5/3/2020

Picture
In tonight's - Thursday 05 March 2020 - EastEnders, Ian Beale (Adam Woodyatt) was given a hefty ultimatum by Kirsty Cotton (Milly Zero).
Picture
During the Colin Wyatt episode, Kirsty learnt of Phil's plans - via Shirley Carter (Linda Henry) - to temporarily close Mitchell's Autos leaving Kirsty without a job to fund her through college.
Less than sympathetic Shirley told Kirsty to lock-up after the finished maintaining a vehicle which caused Dot Branning's granddaughter to panic.
Picture
Later, Kirsty discovered some unanswered phone calls on The Arches' business phone and delightfully informed the caretaker manager of how many clients The Arches could have and that they would be "quids in".
Shirley gave Kirsty the benefit of the doubt and told her to pursue the potential clients for Ricky Champ's daughter's favourite.
Picture
As Kirsty trawled through the voicemails, she stumbled across one from Dennis "Denny" Rickman (Bleu Landau) begging Ian for forgiveness when he was imprisoned in a locker room by the Walford Councillor in the barge during EastEnders' 35 Anniversary week on the River Thames.
It was not long before Kirsty figured out what Ian had done.
Kirsty wouldn't be "Nasty" Nick Cotton's daughter for nothing so formulating a plan, she marched over to Walford East to confront Ian about her discovery.
Ian tried to brush it off at first, reminding her of the warning he gave earlier in the epidode.  Ian told Kirsty that no-one would believe a petty criminal's daughter over a local councillor.
Picture
Mr. Beale thought he got away with it until Kirsty explained what a "pocket dial" is before pressing speaker phone and playing the damning voice message Dennis left on the phone.
It was in the closing moments of the episode where Kirsty gave Ian an ultimatum of her own.
Picture
Reminding Ian that Ben Mitchell (Max Bowden) is his brother, she demanded Ian get Ben to sign The Arches over to her.
Viewers will have to wait to discover what Ian's answer will be.
EastEnders continues on BBC One.
