In tonight's visit to the Yorkshire Dales. Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) was given a shock when she asked Paddy Dingle (Dominic Brunt) where Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) was because the Veterinary Surgery had a sign on the door saying "closed for personal reasons". Initially, Paddy didn't know how to tell Dawn the news but having no choice after being put on the spot, Paddy said "Jamie's dead" then explained about the accident. Visibly, Dawn was shocked and couldn't believe her ears. Over in The Woolpack, Dawn had a drink with her dad, Will Taylor (Dean Andrews), who explained that "Kim is in bits over there".
Fully believing she was at fault, Dawn told Will that she and Jamie had a massive arguement just before he crashed the car. Continuing with her version of events, Dawn explained to Will about how she knew about the pact Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) and Jamie made. The pact about if Jamie were to marry Gabby then he would manage to get half of whatever Kim Tate (Claire King) had. The pact was to get into Kim's good books. With Will being one of Kim's Estate Managers, will he forward this information to Kim in due course? WIll may have told Dawn that he won't tell anybody about anything but it could only a matter of time before he lets it slip. Emmerdale continues, weekdays, on ITV/STV. In tonight's visit to the Yorkshire Dales, news of last week's freak accident has hit Home Farm as Gabby Thomas (Rosie Bentham) worries her unborn child will grow up not knowing his or her father because Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln) drove into a lake after being distracted by his mobile phone. Gabby wasn't holding up much optimisim and having complete disbelief that Jamie has died, but Lydia Dingle (Karen Blick) did her best to keep the mum-to-be remaining positive. Arriving mid-conversation, Kim Tate (Claire King) didn't appear all too bothered about Jamie's disappearance/death but gave Gabby a warning to remain strong for her grandchild.
Soon an officer from Hotten Police arrived at Home Farm to give an update on all things Jamie Tate. Asking DS Rogers (Matthew Flynn) if Jamie had been found, Gabby and Kim were given the bad news that there was no sign of the missing man as of yet. Furthermore, DS Rogers confirmed a Police Diving Unit resumed searching of the lake earlier that morning. Kim is convinced Jamie is on dry land but DS Rogers said the lake is rather deep and an eye witness confirmed they saw Jamie Tate drive off the ledge into the lake. Still lingering around after having a conversation with Gabby, Lydia blurted out that it was Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) who saw Jamie go off the road. Lydia soon realised she shouldn't have said anything but it was too late, Kim was more than irked to learn Chas was the other driver. Wondering what could have caused the crash, Kim asked DS Rogers for some thoughts. He told Kim, Gabby (& Lydia) that there was a number of reasons Jamie could have ran off the road but believes it may have been a mobile phone call so Hotten Police will be checking Jamie's mobile phone records. Again, DS Rogers did reiterate that enquiries are ongoing. As DS Rogers left, Kim became more concerned but was convinced Jamie is compltely fine - until Lydia hinted that it might be best she "faced facts". Emmerdale continues, weekdays, on ITV/STV. After twenty two years playing matriarch Diane Sugden actor Elizabeth Estensen has decided to retire from Emmerdale. Her character Diane has been at the heart of Emmerdale for all these years. Diane has been married and widowed, and at the helm as landlady of The Woolpack for seventeen years. Past storylines have seen her ripped off by her conman lover Charlie Haynes (George Costigan), and stabbed in the dark by Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter). Throughout all this, Diane has been a supportive mother, sister, stepmother and grandmother to her fictional family. Diane has undergone treatment for cancer twice and been trapped at gun point in a siege. She was lost in a mirror maze which ultimately killed her sister Val Pollard (Charlie Hardwick), and more recently helped ex lover Eric Pollard (Christopher Chittell) run the village B&B. After such an action packed life in the village, Diane will soon be packing her suitcases and heading off to warmer climes leaving her life in the village behind her. On her decision to retire from the programme Elizabeth Estensen, said:
"For the past 22 years I have loved playing Diane Sugden - she's kind, reliable and fiercely loyal. However, I now feel the time has come to say goodbye. Emmerdale will always remain special to me. I've been treated with respect and kindness and I've had the very best friends and colleagues, both past and present. I’ll miss everyone dearly." John Whiston, Managing Director of Continuing Drama and Head of ITV in Scotland, said: "For 22 years, Liz has shone through the screen and into our living rooms as the natural heart and centre of The Sugden Family. It's a role she has made so totally her own, bringing compassion, humour and credibility to her portrayal of Diane. Whenever she's on screen, as a viewer, you just let out a contented sigh and say to yourself 'The Queen is on her throne and all is well with the world'. And off screen, you don't get to stay in a soap that long unless you are a truly professional actor and really, really lovely person. Liz is both." Although Elizabeth has filmed her final scenes she will be on screen for a number of weeks. It is unclear as to when Elizabeth Estensen will bow out on-screen but she will leave a wonderful legacy behind her. Emmerdale continues tonight, with a doublesode, at 19:00 on ITV/STV. Earlier tonight in Coronation Street, Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) was wrongfully found guilty of murdering Sebastian Franklin when Corey Brent (Maximus Evans), who killed Sebastian, walked free. When the jury spokesperson announced the guilty verdict, Kelly crumbled and it was up to her foster mother, Toyah Battersby (Georgia Taylor), to offer comfort before Kelly was taken away to a holding cell before being transported to prison. Kelly spoke to Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo), her foster father and lawyer, before being sentenced about how she wanted an apprenticeship and had many aspirations for her life. Kelly recognised if she got a life sentence then she would be approximately 30-years-old before being released and all her school friends would be married and have children. Corey, who killed Harry Visinoni's character, walked away unpunished and Kelly was forced to start a life sentence in prison for something she never did. With her life in the worst place possible, Kelly's mental state darkened as in the closing moments of episode 10425, a prison warden doing surveillance of the cells and found an alarming discovery, Kelly had attempted suicide.
After being taken to a medical facility for evaluation, a member of staff from the prison telephoned a figuratively floored Toyah to tell her about Kelly's near-fatality. Toyah told Leanne Battersby (Jane Danson) about what happened before leaving to see Kelly. Coronation Street continues on ITV/STV next week. It's been a long and ardious road to the conclusion of the murder of Sebastian Franklin in Coronation Street. Since May 2021, viewers have been guessing on who killed Harry Visinoni's much-loved character. Thanks to a special flashback episode at the end of August, Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) took Abi Franklin (Sally Carman), Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby) and Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) through events of that fateful night. With twists and turns as Nina told the story of exactly what happened. Because Nina chooses to dress in a way that doesn't fit the norm, she and Sebastian were fatally targeted by Corey Brent (Maximus Evans), and his gang. As Kelly Neelan (Millie Gibson) stood by in horror watching Corey kick Sebastian to his death, she tried to pull Corey away but because she was close to the assualt that took the life of Sebastian, small splatters of blood were found on her clothing. When Corey made his getaway, he changed his attire to clean clothes so no blood could be found. The evidence was hard against Kelly. Kelly's foster father, Imran Habeeb (Charlie De Melo), who also acted as her lawyer was up against a team of solicitors hired by Stefan Brent (Paul Opacic). Two attorneys comprising of Kwame Boateng (Stefan Asante-Boateng) and Sabeen Habeeb (Zora Bishop) who happens to be Imran's ex-wife. In the closing moments of episode 10424, ITV/STV aired the verdict and it didn't go in the favour of Lady Justice. Kelly was found guilty of murder and Corey set free.
Coronation Street continues, tonight, at 20:30 on ITV/STV. Waking up early in the morning, Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) was shocked in tonight's (Monday 6 September 2021) Emmerdale to see Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) crunhing numbers in The Woolpack. She was amazed at how early Marlon had turned up for work. Quickly realising what was going on, Chas told Marlon she's aware that The Woolpack's finances is keeping Marlon awake at night. Chas joked about how they could do budget cuts by hypothetically saying customers should bring their own toilet roll but Marlon was far from in a joking mood and commented that he didn't know how hard bouncing back would be.
Emmerdale continues, tomorrow, at 19:00 on ITV/STV. After losing his daughter 59 days ago, Dr. Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) has been struggling with grief and subsequently hasn't been sleeping well. In tonight's (Monday 6 September 2021) visit to Emmerdale Village, Liam told his wife, Leyla Cavanagh (Rokhsaneh Ghawam-Shahidi), that he slept through his alarm. Liam suggested to Leyla that they meet for a quick sandwich at lunchtime but Leyla declined saying she has a client at Take A Vow. Liam pondered on what it would be like to not have anything else to worry about and Leyla was nervous because she is carrying his child unbeknown to him. At Take A Vow, Priya Kotecha (Fiona Wade) arrived for work and asked Leyla how things went with Liam. Leyla told Priya she still hasn't told him about the baby or her bleeding. Wanting some help, Leyla went over to the Medical Centre where Wendy Posner (Susan Cookson) explained the pain and the bleeding could be because of a miscarriage but Leyla had her suspicions that could be the case. Wendy suggested Liam would be able to make the appropriate arrangements but Leyla told Wendy he didn't know she was pregnant. Wendy was a little stunned. Leyla went on to say she was being kind to Liam because of everything that happened with Leanna. In the village, Priya overheard Liam talking on the phone leaving Leyla a voicemail message asking if she had dealt with her Take A Vow emergency. After he hung up, Priya asked what emergency he was talking about - thinking Liam was told about the baby - but Liam reiterated about the Take A Vow client. Looking like she was about to say something, Liam asked Priya if there was anything else that could have been an emergency with Leyla but Priya brushed him off. Back at Tenant House, Liam asked Leyla if she knew something he didn't. It was then a bombshell was dropped on Liam as Leyla told him "I think I might be losing our baby". Liam was stunned silent. Completely shocked with the situation, Liam asked Leyla if she was sure. Leyla told Liam she took a pregnancy test and that she went to see Wendy earlier that day.
Liam thought Leyla didn't want him to know but Leyla explained how she was terrified she would have ended up on her own because Liam said he couldn't cope with any change. Trying to find a positive in the situation, Liam said the pregnancy is early days but when Leyla asked if Liam would go to the medical facility for the scan, he was evasive and said he'd have to check his schedule because he's covering for Dr. Manpreet Sharma (Rebecca Sarker) who's in Ibiza. Leyla was devastated. Emmerdale continues on ITV/STV, tomorrow, at 19:00. |
