Ever since CoronaVirus Pandemic stopped production of all drama in the United Kingdom, Coronation Street and Emmerdale have been running on a reduced capacity but not for much longer. Come 14 September 2020, the Manchester-based programme will return to 6 episodes a week.
An ITV/STV spokesperson has told AndyGibsonTV.com that there are some more avenues particular storylines will explore, including:
- DI Mark Malone's body can only remain undetected at the graveyard for so long. Both Harriet Finch (Katherine Dow Blyton) and Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) will have to "deal with the consequences" of murdering the devious detective.
- Belle Dingle (Eden Taylor-Draper) will, also, have to "deal with the consequences" of choosing Jamie Tate (Alexander Lincoln). Emmerdale have been tight-lipped but have suggested there may be a war about to erupt.
- Moira Dingle (Natalie J. Robb) is to be soon joined by her brother. Emmerdale have said he is to "get pulses racing and cause trouble for some of our most loved characters".
"I'm so proud of the tireless work that everyone has put into getting us back to six episodes a week. The commitment, loyalty and enthusiasm from our cast, crew and different teams has been phenomenal. I couldn't be prouder of them."
