Officers appeal for information following collision on the A591
Police are continuing enquiries into the circumstances of a road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 20:40 on Sunday 28 November 2021. The collision occurred on the A591 between Crosthwaite Roundabout and Lyzzick Hall, where a black Ford Fiesta collided with a tree. A 19-year-old woman passenger from the vehicle remains in a critical condition and is now in The Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle. Her family are being supported by specialist officers. Two other occupants, a 22-year-old male, and a 19-year-old man, sustained minor injuries. Police are appealing for any witnesses to come forward who may have travelled the A591 around this time, particularly in a Westbound direction, especially those with any dashcam footage or anyone who may have seen the black Fiesta in the vicinity around this time. Cumbria Police are currently dealing with a serious collision in the area of Melbourne Park on Melbourne Road, Carlisle. The authorities were alerted at approximately 15:00, today, Thursday 2 December 2021.
Officers are currently in the area and a cordon is in place. The public are asked to avoid the area whilst officers conduct their investigations. |
