TEENAGER CHARGED WITH MURDER IN HARROW INVESTIGATION | INFORMING BRITAIN

Detectives have charged a 19-year-old man with the murder of Robert Weston in Harrow.

Jaden Sheriff, 19, of Forston Street, was arrested on Tuesday 27 February on suspicion of murder.  He was subsequently charged with murder and possession of an offensive weapon in the early hours of Thursday 29 February.

Sheriff appeared at Willesden Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 29 February and was remanded in custody until his next hearing on Monday 4 March 2024 at the Old Bailey.

Detectives launched a murder investigation after police were called at approximately 14:05 on Monday 26 February 2024 to Hamilton Crescent with reports that a man in his 30s had been stabbed.

Officers, medics from London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended and attempted to save the man's life but he didn't respond to treatment. 

Although formal identification is yet to take place, Robert Weston's family were informed and they will continue to receive support from specially trained officers.

As is routine in cases where there has been prior police contact, a mandatory referral will be made to the IOPC by the Met's Directorate of Professional Standards.

Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 and quote Reference Number: CAD 3619/26Feb.

IMAGE RELEASED OF MAN SUNDERLAND POLICE WANT TO TRACE IN CONNECTION OF LONDIS SHOP THEFT | INFORMING BRITAIN

Northumbria Officers investigating a report of theft in Sunderland have issued an image of a man who they would like to trace.

On Saturday 17 February 2024, Northumbria Police received a report of theft at a Londis store on Belvedere Road in the Ashbrooke area.

It was reported that a man entered the store, made a purchase, then at approximately 10.37am picked up a wallet that had mistakenly been left on the counter at the checkout.

The wallet contained around £160 cash, a valuable ring and some personal sentimental photographs.

The incident was reported to police who launched an investigation.

Today (Tuesday 27 February 2024), the investigating team have released an image of a man who they would like to speak to in connection with the report.

He was in the area at the time of the theft and officers believe he may have information which could assist the investigation.

The man in the CCTV image - or anyone who recognises him - is asked to contact Northumbria Police by calling 101 quoting Crime Reference Number 019173J/24.

Alternatively, those with information can give details to CrimeStoppers, anonymously, on 0800555111.

DASH CAM FOOTAGE SOUGHT AS POLICE PROBE MURDER IN HARROW | INFORMING BRITAIN

Detectives investigating a fatal stabbing in Harrow, London are appealing for dash cam footage.

Robert Weston, 37, of Harrow, died following an incident on Monday 26 February, and a murder investigation is underway.

Superintendent Matt Cray is in-charge of policing in Harrow gave comment on this incident.

Superintendent Cray, said:

"This is a devastating incident and our thoughts are with Robert's family and loved ones."

Superintendent Cray, continues:

"We remain in the early stages of our investigation, however I am confident there is no wider risk to the community in Harrow.  This will have a significant impact on how the community feels about their safety and there will be enhanced patrols in the area over the next few days to respond to any concerns people may have.  The team of detectives who are investigating Robert's death are working hard to establish what happened, and I would ask that anyone who has not yet come forward with information, which could help their enquiries, does so without delay."

Metropolitan Police were alerted at approximately 14:05 on Monday, 26 February 2024 with a call saying a man in his 30s had been stabbed on Hamilton Crescent. 

Officers, Medical Personnel from London Ambulance Service & London's Air Ambulance attended Hamilton Crescent.

After attempts to save him weren't successful, the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Although formal identification is yet to take place, Robert Weston's family were informed and they will continue to receive support from specially trained officers.

Detective Chief Inspector Neil John has been appointed Senior Investigating Officer for this case.

DCI John, said:

"This was a terrible incident and my condolences are with the victim's loved ones.  We believe that the assault took place inside a house and enquiries are ongoing to determine how Robert came to lose his life.  At this time, I am interested to hear from anyone who was travelling in Hamilton Crescent or the Kingsway around the time of the offence, and who may have dash cam footage to share."

DCI John wishes the public to search Dash Cam footage between 13:45 and 14:15 on Monday 26 February if any was recorded from the Hamilton Crescent/Kingsway area. 

DCI John is asking for anybody to get in-touch, and said:

"Even if you didn’t see anything significant, your Dash Cam footage may tell a different story, so please do contact my team of detectives."

No arrests have been made at this stage and a crime scene remains in place.

As is routine in cases where there has been prior police contact, a mandatory referral will be made to the IOPC by the Met's Department of Professional Standards.

Anyone with information that could assist police is asked to call 101 and ask to be transferred to officers in Harrow.  Callers should quote Reference Number: CAD3619/26Feb.
