"Drugs blight our communities, and Jonathan was playing his part in bringing that misery to the streets of Cardiff. "Tackling organised crime is a priority for South Wales Police and we will continue to be relentless in our pursuit of criminals to protect communities from harm." A 36-year-old man from Pentwyn has received a prison sentence after admitting involvement in the supply of Class A drugs. Jonathan Grossett was the subject of a police warrant executed at a property in Rhoose on Friday 12 September 2025. Upon entry, officers discovered him attempting to dispose of cocaine in the toilet. Additional items recovered from the address included drug supply equipment, empty grip-seal bags and more than £200 in cash. Grossett entered guilty pleas to being concerned in the supply of cocaine, acquiring or possessing criminal property, and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A. He appeared at Cardiff Crown Court on Wednesday 29 October 2025 and was sentenced to five years and seven months imprisonment. Cardiff Crown Court Detective Inspector Bartley said: "Jonathan Grossett is yet another man who saw Class A drugs as a 'get-rich-quick' scheme. A male has been detained and a female indicted in relation to occurrences on the Isle Of Dogs on Wednesday. On Wednesday evening, an preliminary announcement was issued concerning an event in which a male purportedly gained entry to a female's apartment. He was subsequently restrained by bystanders in the proximity. The inquiry progressed on Thursday, with personnel conducting comprehensive CCTV reviews and interviewing eyewitnesses. Consequently, during the early hours of this morning - Friday, 15 August 2025 - a male was apprehended in the Hackney district on suspicion of Common Assault. He is estimated to be in his early twenties. It has been verified that this is the individual who allegedly accessed the apartment. He remains in police detention. A 22-year-old female detained on Wednesday evening has subsequently been indicted on several counts. She resides in the apartment that was accessed. Channay Augustus, 22 (born 28 October 2002), of Byng Street, Tower Hamlets, has been charged with possession of an offensive weapon, Affray, Assault on an emergency worker, Common Assault and possession of Cannabis.  The charges of affray and common assault pertain to a confrontation at the Britannia Hotel in Marsh Wall later that Wednesday evening. The purported victim of the Common Assault is a security personnel at the hotel, not the male who allegedly entered her apartment. Augustus has been held in Police Custody pending her appearance at Thames Magistrates' Court earlier today. 19-YEAR-OLD FEMALE CHARGED WITH ALLEGED TRANSPHOBIC ATTEMPTED MURDER IN HARROW | INFORMING BRITAIN11/3/2024  Detectives investigating an alleged transphobic assault in Harrow have charged four people in connection with this incident. According to a Metropolitan Police spokesperson, Summer Betts-Ramsey, 19, was arrested on Sunday 11 February 2024 and charged with attempted murder and possession of an offensive weapon. Summer Betts-Ramsey will appear at the Old Bailey and this has been scheduled for Tuesday 12 March 2024. The other members of this quartet cannot be named for legal reasons, as they are under the age of 18, and have been referred to as B, C, and D. A 16-year-old girl [B] was arrested on Wednesday 28 February 2024 and charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, robbery and drug possession (cannabis). She will also appear at the Old Bailey, tomorrow. Just over a week later, on Thursday 7 March 2024, a 17-year-old male [C] was charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, disclosing sexual images and threatening the victim with a knife in a private place. The following day, a second 17-year-old boy [D] was charged on Friday 8 March 2024. The charge given was grievous bodily harm with intent. Both males have been remanded and will appear at the Old Bailey on Friday 5 April 2024. The charges relate to a serious assault on Greater London's Masons Avenue in the HA3 area which left an 18-year-old girl with stab wounds. She has since been discharged from a local medical facility.  |
